05:00 am :Pick-up at Agra
You will be picked up from your desired location be it hotel, airport or railway station in Delhi/NCR/Gurgaon via car early morning at around 6 am in the morning and then your same day Agra tour with Fathepur Sikri by car begins. Enjoy the majestic Taj Mahal; symbol of love and purity in all its glory built by Shah Jahan in the loving memory of his queen Mumtaj Mahal. The serene Yamuna River flowing by and beautiful Mughal gardens laid out surrounding the Taj overwhelms anyone who set his eyes upon this breathtaking scenic view.
12:30 PM : Lunch
After visiting the beautiful Taj and enjoying its amazing views, it’s time for some refreshments and relaxation. We proceed to the hotel for your lunch of exotic Indian food and a brief break so that you can rest and enjoy the rest of the trip to its fullest.
01:30 PM : Fathepur Sikri
After visiting Agra Fort, it’s time to head towards Fatehpur Sikri also called as “the city of Victory” built by the Great Mughal Emperor; Akbar. Lots of spots and monuments in Fatehpur Sikri are included in the tour such as Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chishti, Panch Mahal, Birbal’s palace and many more.
- Buland Darwaza: the Buland Darwaza at Fatehpur Sikri is 55 metres high, from the outside, gradually making a transition to a human scale in the inside. Built as a victory arch, to commemorate Akbar‘s successful Gujarat campaign. It presents you a grand entrance to the beautiful courtyard of Jama Masjid.
- Jama Masjid: It is a mosque and perhaps one of the first buildings to be constructed in the complex, with the Buland-Darwaza as a massive entrance to the courtyard. The large central mihrab is covered by a dome which is decorated with fine and beautiful white marble inlay, in geometric patterns which you can look at for hours straight.
- Tomb of Salim Chishti: A white marble encased tomb of the Sufisaint, Salim Chisti, within the Jama Masjid’s courtyard. It is built around a central square chamber, within which is the grave of the saint. Surrounding it is a covered passageway with stone pierced screens all around with intricate geometric design, all made of striking white marble just like the Taj Mahal.
07:00 PM : Drop off at Delhi
After visiting Fathehpur Sikri, it’s time to head back to the city Delhi to drop off you at your desired location at airport, hotel or railway station according to your preferred time. And with this, your same day Agra tour with Fatehpur Sikri ends here.
